Sherry cask

A Sherried Whisky indicates a maturation period in ex-Sherry butts. The style of sherry the barrel held will also influence the flavour profile of the whisky, for example an ex Olorosso cask will impart nutty dried fruit flavours, whereas a Pedro Ximenz cask will bring a richer sweet raisin flavour profile. This is often used to contrast the flavours of American whiskey or wine casks.
